House of Spells History of Collecting Harry Potter Stuff
Here at House of Spells, our love for Harry Potter began long ago when the first book hit the shelves, and the obsession with collecting only took off when the first movie hit theaters and JK Rowling had only written the first few Harry Potter book set. We were addicts! The first item in our collection was a Harry Potter wand that was brought over from a comic book in Milton Keynes years ago (unfortunately not from Ollivander in Diagon Ally, I'm still waiting for my letter). Our new hobby became traveling through toy and comic shops here in the UK in search of new items to add to our collection. It wasn't always easy to find something new back then as there wasn't much of it and Harry Potter merchandise wasn't what it is today.
So we decided to fill the gap in the market and started our own company focused on Harry Potter items. We have specialized in Harry Potter gifts and collectibles ever since. During this time, we have seen many different companies introduce great new products, many of which are sadly no longer available. The companies that made these products either lost their license or, sadly, are no longer operating. We have imported items from all over the world for the past 16 years and we love discovering new products. So we are here to pass on what we know and have learned as collectors and as an independent Harry Potter shop.
What accessories from the Harry Potter movies are there?
If you don't like Harry Potter wands or are looking for something else, there are plenty of other movie props to choose from. From Professor Slughorn's iconic hourglass to Mad-Eye Moody's flask. We have a great selection of the best in business and online.
If you want to collect replica accessories first, you need to decide whether you want to display these items, or whether you prefer items that you can wear or take with you.
Items like Dumbledore's Deluminator are perfect for display and use as cosplay accessories. The Ravenclaw tiara can also be worn, but it also comes with a large display box so you can put it on your shelf or closet after wearing it.
Another good item to display, but one that is also functional, is the Harry Potter chess set. There are several styles available. The great thing about these chess games is that if you haven't finished your game, you have them on hold until you have a chance to finish.
From Harry Potter mugs to stationery.
If you want to collect Harry Potter merchandise but don't want them just on display, you will want to wear and display what you have purchased. So the home goods category is probably what you would be looking for.
There is a great selection of Harry Potter gifts or collectibles to buy at home or take to the office, work, or even school. Mugs are a great idea, you can use them over and over and they look great on the desk too
There are so many options that you can buy Harry Potter mugs that have a picture of your favorite character or scene from the movie, your favorite quote, the Harry Potter logo, or even a 3D sculpture of Hedwig. These also make great gifts.
Stationery is also a very useful item to use over and over again. We have a range of Harry Potter magic pens available in-store and online. We even have a replica of Tom Riddle's journal that you can use as a notebook.
Display your Harry Potter clothing and portable collectibles.
With the wide variety of clothes to choose from, you can show everyone that you are a Harry Potter fan. From full cosplay costumes to lightning bolt earrings, here are some Harry Potter collectables to add to your collection.
There are tons of t-shirts, but one of our most popular collectibles is the Funko POP outlet boxes. These are very collectible and you can wear them in style or keep them in the box as part of your collection.
There are also many other manufacturers, most supermarkets usually have a selection ranging from socks to pajamas. These are usually cheap and mass-produced so you won't get anything unique. Most independent Harry Potter specialists will specialize in more exclusive or higher-quality clothing.
