9 Reasons Why Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is Awesome😍
1. The landscape
If you've missed the magical backdrops and sights that the Harry Potter films are famous for, you won't be disappointed with the images from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Set seventy years before the Harry Potter series, the film wonderfully depicts New York in the 1920s with horses and buggies, passenger ships and an impressive wizarding congress. Not to mention the costumes and some epic battle scenes. Do you remember the Battle of Hogwarts in the second Deathly Hallows film? Fantastic Beasts has visuals that can compete with them.
2. Newt Scamander
If you've seen any of the Fantastic Beasts trailers, you probably already have a soft spot for Newt. Rowling's new lead is friendly, passionate, and a little eccentric. He has a great personality and an even bigger heart. He's more of a controversial hero in the eyes of the wizarding world than Harry ever will be, and I can't wait to see the character and legend develop throughout the series. Expect to leave the theater a little in love with Newt.
3. The Niffler
I don't want to spoil it so I'm just saying: Fantastic Beasts Niffler's comic book moment is pure gold.
4. It's dark
Fantastic Beasts is darker than you think.
5. It's fun
Fantastic beasts are more fun than you think.
6. Jacob
He knew there would be a celebrity Muggle in the movie, also known as No-Maj, but he wasn't sure what to expect from him. After all, we've already spent film after film with the terrible Dursleys, Harry's only living (Muggle) family. But Jacob isn't Duddykins: he'll undoubtedly be one of your favourite characters by the end of the movie.
7. The suitcase
If you thought Hermione's pearl bag in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was huge, prepare to think big. Not only does Newt have a workshop in his suitcase, he also has enough storage space to house an entire sanctuary for creatures. From Bowtruckles to Grindylows and everything in between, Newt brings far more fantastic beasts to New York than you can fit in your average carry-on bag.
8. The beasts
Speaking of which, if you're wondering if the beasts in this film live up to our great expectations, you won't be disappointed. The CGI is great, but the creatures in the movie don't just look pretty. They all have strong personalities, and while the plot is bigger than just them, they get a lot of very satisfactory screen time.
9. What's next?
Fantastic Beasts is just the beginning of a much bigger story. You may have already guessed who the villain of this series will be. If so, you may already be freaking out. If not, prepare to go crazy. The antagonist reveals evidence that a certain prominent Harry Potter character might very well appear in upcoming films. And what about my opinion? Yasssssss.
